Results

The boiling point can be calculated from the onset or the peak maximum, whereby impure samples are usually characterised by their peak maximum.

In the DSC curve, no significant peak maximum of the sample could be observed in all cycles. Hereby, the first cycle differs to the second respectively third cycle, which are quasi equal to each other. The latter do not show any mentionable alteration. However, a slight increase of the signal between 250 °C and 300 °C together with tiny endothermic signals can be turned out in the first cycle, indicating boiling components of the analysed sample, and furthermore, a decreasing signal beyond 300 °C, which possibly may originate from a decomposition. The endothermic signals are not worth to account for boiling point calculations as they were too small.

Consequently, a discrete boiling point could not be determined with the method used or it is beyond 400 °C.

Conclusions:
The boiling point of the test item was investigated by DSC measurement according to OECD 103. However, a discrete boiling point could not be determined with the method used or it is beyond 400 °C.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of the test item was investigated by DSC measurement according to OECD 103. However, a discrete boiling point could not be determined with the method used or it is beyond 400 °C.
