General Advice:

In case of exposure seek medical advice.

If person is unconscious and breathing place in recovery position.

If person is not breathing give artificial respiration and immediately seek medical advice.

In the event of exposure by inhalation:

If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Immediately seek medical advice.

In the event of splashes or contact with eyes:

Rinse cautiously with clean fresh water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.

Continue rinsing with water for 15 minutes holding the eyelids open.

Seek medical attention.

Exposure may cause Methemoglobinemia (MetHb).

The most important symptoms and effects are described in the labelling

Fire-fighting measures

1.Extinguishing media

Suitable methods of extinction

In the event of a fire, use:

Water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or CO2 extinguisher.

Unsuitable methods of extinction In the event of a fire, do not use: None.

2.  Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

A fire will often produce a thick black smoke. Exposure to decomposition products may be hazardous to health. Do not breathe in smoke.

In the event of a fire, the following may be formed:

-       Carbon monoxide (CO)

-       Carbon dioxide (CO2)

-       Hydrogen chloride (HCL)

-       Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

.3...    Advice for firefighters

Due to the toxicity of the gas emitted on thermal decomposition of the products, fire-fighting personnel are to be equipped with breathing apparatus.

Use water to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

1  Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Consult the safety measures listed under sections " Handling and  Storage"  and "Exposure controls / Personal Protection" .

For non- emergency personnel

Use personal protective equipment.

Avoid any contact with the skin and eyes.

Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas.

If a large quantity has been spilt, evacuate all personnel and only allow intervention by trained operators equipped with safety equipment.

For emergency responders

Emergency responders must use suitable personal protective equipment.

2. Environmental precautions

Prevent any material from entering drains or waterways. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
