JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Study scientifically not necessary because practical experience exists at the sponsor and the test facility, e.g. when handling small amounts of the test substance repeatedly in air during testing. Moreover, there are no functional groups within the test item molecule that could cause pyrophoricity, basis: "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment", Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, R.7.1.10.2 (ECHA, October 2015).

Description of key information

Flammability: Data waiving: In accordance with REACH Annex XI, this study is scientifically unjustified. The flammability of liquids is determined on the basis of their flash point (in combination with their boiling point), their ability to emit flammable gases upon contact with water and their pyrophoricity. The molecular structure of the test item does not contain groups that indicate potential reactivity with water or phyrophoric properties and handling of the substance indicates that this is the case.  
Flammability in contact with water: Data waiving (study scientifically not necessary / other information available): Based on experience and on the structure of the molecule, the substance is not regarded as flammable in contact with water. 
Pyrophoricity: Data waiving (study scientifically not necessary / other information available): Based on experience and the structure of the molecule, the substance is regarded as not pyrophoric.
