Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2018
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Justification for type of information:
Test performed at a contract research organisation (Concept Life Sciences) using an In-house validated testing method for evaluation of water solubility
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The aqueous solubility of the sample was visually assessed at room temperature. 50 g of sample was accurately weighed into a via with 0.5 mL of deionised water. The sample was stirred for 10 minutes to aid solubility. Further aliquots of deionised water were added until the sample was soluble. The sample formed a cloudy solution and appeared to be soluble in 0.75 mL of DI water.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
other: visual assessment
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Sample number: 346/001-01 representing the registered substance
Key result
Water solubility:
0.015 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 7
Conclusions:
The measured water solubility of the UVCB substance "Reaction product of saturated palm kernel fatty acids and oxybispropanediol" is 0.015 mg/mL.
Executive summary:

The UVCB substance "Reaction product of saturated palm kernel fatty acids and oxybispropanediol" is only limited soluble in water with a measured water solubility of 0.015 mg/L.
