Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Start date of the experimental work: 23 August 2018 and Completion date of the experimental work: 31 October 2018.
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: SIWOLOBOFF method and Differential Scanning Calorimeter method.
Remarks:
As no boiling point was observed at 250°C which exceeds the limitation of the apparatus, the DSC method was used for boiling point determination.
Key result

Conclusions:
No boiling was observed at 250°C, which exceeds the limitation of the apparatus (SIWOLOBOFF method). Therefore the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method was used and the boiling point was determined to be in the range: 351.7 - 357.4°C
Executive summary:

The test is conducted to determine the temperature or temperature range of the phase transition from a liquid to a vapour. The test also determines if the sample undergoes exothermic decomposition.

The test is conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A.2 and OECD Test Guideline 103.

No boiling was observed at 250°C, which exceeds the limitation of the apparatus (SIWOLOBOFF method). Therefore the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method was used and the boiling point was determined to be in the range: 351.7 - 357.4°C

Description of key information

No boiling was observed at 250°C, which exceeds the limitation of the apparatus (SIWOLOBOFF method). Therefore the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method was used and the boiling point was determined to be in the range: 351.7 - 357.4°C
