Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test Information - Initial Steps

1.              A small quantity of the sample was placed in a trough of distilled water. It was noted if any gas generation or a spontaneous ignition occurred.

2.              A small quantity of the sample was placed in the centre of a filter paper which was floated on the surface of distilled water. It was noted if any gas generation or a spontaneous ignition occurred.

3.              A few drops of distilled water were added to a beaker with a small amount of sample. It was noted if any gas generation or a spontaneous ignition occurred.

Comments

Data logging during test runs 1 and 4 was interrupted. Results were therefore unreliable and have not been reported.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
For the initial tests, no gas generation or spontaneous ignitions were observed.
For the final test the generation of a flammable gas was less than 1 Litre/kg of the substance per hour. Under the EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A.12,the substance is therefore determined to be Non-Hazardous.
Executive summary:

The test is designed to determine the ability of a substance to emit flammable gases on contact with water by bringing it into contact with water under a variety of conditions.

1  No ignition No charring  No reaction
2  No ignition No charring  No reaction
3  No ingnition No charring No reaction

No ignition or charring was observed during any test. The sample is therefore Not Pyrophiric.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
No ignition or charring was observed during any test. The sample is therefore not Pyrophoric.
Executive summary:

The test is designed to determine the ability of a solid or liquid to ignite on contact with air. The test is conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A.13.

No ignition or charring was observed during any test. The sample is therefore not Pyrophoric.

Description of key information
