- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- 1. Preparation of test substance
The test substance was calibrated according to purity (100%). The method of preparation was selected to maximize the solubility of the test substance under specific test exposure conditions. Test substance of 0.05000 and 0.05002 g was dissolved in M4 media as solvent to make the test stock solution. The test substance was prepared in 500 mL capacity glass volumetric flask with 500 mL of dilution agent. Then the volumetric flask was stirred at 200 rpm with a stir bar (38 mm) was added. Test substances were prepared before 48 hours prior to the treatment at room temperature. After stirring for 48 hours, the test stock solution was filtered through 0.45 μm PVDF filter.

The analyses of test substance in the test water was not conducted because the analytical method of test substance could not be established.

2. Selection of the test species
The water flea (Daphnia magna) is recommended in “OECD guideline for the testing of chemicals 202”, and was selected for this test because this species have a plenty of comparable toxicological data.
3. Environmental condition
The daphnia were bred in 1 L cylinder glass bath. The temperature of breeding water is maintained within the range of 18~22℃ and photo periods are 16 hours light and 8 hours darkness.
4. Feeding
Feeds were supplied once a day: chlorella vulgaris

The water quality was analyzed for total hardness and alkalinity of the test water was measured by hardness meter and alkalinity meter.

- There was no immobility observed in any of the daphnia exposed to control group and 100.0 mg/L of test solution at 48 hours. No abnormal behavior was observed in control and treatment groups during a limit test.

- EC50 and 95% confidence limits were not statistically calculated, because no immobility was observed after 48 hours in the highest concentration, 100.0 mg/L. Also, effects concentrations in tests based upon WSF (Water Soluble Fraction) was able to calculate from the loading rates and are identified as either EL50 values. NOEC was determined as the highest concentration causing no abnormal behavior and immobility and becomes the NOELR (No Observable Effect Loading Rate). The methods used to determine EL50 and NOELR values was the same as those used to determine EC50 and NOEC values.

- The 48 hours EL50 value of 1,2,3-tris(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propane to Daphnia magna was determined to be higher than 100.0 mg/L, NOELR was 100.0 mg/L. The EL50 and NOELR were based on nominal concentration (loading rate).
