There are no data on terrestrial bioaccumulation of the constituent decamethyltetrasiloxane, L4. In order to facilitate assessment of secondary poisoning via the terrestrial food chain, a predicted BCF is required. Although the log Kow of L4 (8.21) is outside the boundaries of EUSES model for bioaccumulation, a EUSES predicted bioconcentration factor for earthworm of 1.2E+06 l/kg wwt (based on a maximum acceptable log Kow of 8) is considered to be a reasonable approximation and has been used for the assessment. To enable assessment within CHESAR, this value is entered in the Key value field.
