Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Version / remarks:

Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7200 (Melting Point / Melting Range)
Version / remarks:
1998
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Clear, colourless liquid
Purity: 97.2%
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
No melting point was determined. A glass transition of the test item was observed at -78.8°C (194.4K).

Reaction and/or decomposition of the test item was observed during the two DSC experiments at temperatures of > 175°C (> 448K). After the experiments, a brown residue remained in the sample container (original colour: colourless). The change of the colour indicated reaction and/or decomposition of the test item. The glass transition temperature was determined as the mean inflection point temperature of Experiment 1 (-78.643°C) and Experiment 2 (-78.859°C).

Conclusions:
No melting point was determined. A glass transition of the test item was observed at -78.8°C (194.4K).
Executive summary:

No melting point was determined. A glass transition of the test item was observed at -78.8°C (194.4K).
