Reference substance name:
Reaction product of Graphite, acid-treated and potassium permanganate
IUPAC Name:
Reaction product of Graphite, acid-treated and potassium permanganate
Test material form:
cream / paste
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Regarding the containing water, the sample can be seen as a paste (liquid) or as a powder (if dried). Freeze drying is not possible because it is not possible to remove the whole water. Strong van der Waals forces pull the layers more and more together keeping the water trapped.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The study was conducted under GLP according to OECD TG 109 and EU Method A.3 without deviations and therefore reliability of Klimisch 1 has been assigned. Based on the obtained results the density of the test item Graphene oxide, reaction product of Graphite, acid-treated and potassium permanganate was determined to be 1.3006 ± 0.0106 g/cm3 at 20 ± 0.2 °C.
Executive summary:

The study was performed under GLP according to OECD 109 and EU Method A.3. The density was determined according to the hydrostatic balance method (Archimedes Principle) using the „density determination kit” of the Analytical Scale Mettler Toledo XS 205 DU.

A density of 1. 3006 ± 0.0106 g/cm3 at 20 ± 0.2 °C was measured. This value is the mean of two independent determinations ± standard deviation. Standard deviation was 0.0106 g/cm3, showing good correlation of the two determinations. As the calculated RSD 0.81 % is below 1 % the study is considered valid.
