The EC50/48 hours of ZK 46073 to Daphnia magna is higher than a saturated solution (7 mg/L) .
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the acute toxicity (immobilization, EC50/48 hours) of 17 -Keto-Ethyl-Seco-Verbindung (ZK 46073) to Daphnia magna in a limit-test. The study was conducted in agreement with thetest guideline of the OECD, no. 202, "Daphnia spec., acute immobilization test".

Twenty Daphnia were used for the test solution of ZK 46073 and twenty for the control group. The Daphnia were exposed to the test substance and the dilution water for aperiod of 48 hours under static conditions in a limit-test. Immobilization was recorded at 24 hours and 48 hours. In order to establish a saturated solution, a suspension of 100 mg/L was prepared and stirred tor 24 hours. Then it was filtered through a glassfibre filter. This saturated solution was used for the test. Samples for a TOC analysis were taken at 0 and 48 hours. The TOC corresponded to a concentration of 7 mg/L, calculated on the basis of the structural formula of ZK 46073.

No immobilized Daphnia were observed.
