Description of key information

Screening and/or higher tier studies investigating the adsorption potential of ortho-phthalaldehyde do not need to be conducted due to the low octanol water partition coefficient of log Kow = 0.99 of the substance.

The adsorption/desorption coefficient of ortho-phthalaldehyde used for the environmental risk assessment was estimated to be approximately 10 L/kg using the QSAR model KOCWIN v2.00 (SMILES: O=Cc1ccccc1(C=O)).
