guideline study
according to
EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases))
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
315 °C
Atm. press.:
1 003.4 hPa
The test item has an auto-ignition temperature of 315 °C according to the Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.15. Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases) and DIN 51794 (2003): Determination of Ignition Temperature.
It is noted here that according to ECHA guidance – Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment; chapter R.7A: Endpoint specific guidance, October 2015 – the auto-ignition temperature for liquids is not used directly for classification and labeling according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008. However, it can be used in the chemical safety assessment in considering risks associated with processing the substance.
According to DIN EN 13463-1 the test item has to be assigned to temperature class T2.
