Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid having a melting point <= 160°C

Description of key information

No determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test material by Method A.16 Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 was required, since the melting temperature of the test material had been identified to be less than 160 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 of Section 7.12 of REACH Annex VII the self-ignition study does not need to be conducted for solids if the substance has a melting point ≤ 160 °C. The melting temperature of the test material had been identified to be less than 160 °C. Under visual evaluation work performed in support of the determination of the melting temperature, generated under Envigo Study Number DX39XL, the test material had completely liquefied at a temperature below 160 °C.
