Study period:
18 December 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.14 (Explosive properties)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Source and lot/batch No.of test material: Sponsor and G316507
Key result
Parameter:
sensitiveness to impact: impact energy (J)
Remarks on result:
not sensitive to impact using an impact energy of 40 J

The sample of Ceftazidime Dihydrochloride (CLP) was observed to exhibit no reaction at 40 J. The test result is therefore considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97).

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
he sample of Ceftazidime Dihydrochloride (CLP) was observed to exhibit no reaction at 40 J. The test result is therefore considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97).
Endpoint:

Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
12 December 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.14 (Explosive properties)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Source and lot/batch No.of test material: Sponsor and G316507
Key result
Parameter:
sensitiveness to friction: friction load (N)
Remarks on result:
not sensitive to friction using a friction load of 360 N
Remarks:
The sample of Ceftazidime Dihydrochloride (CLP) was observed to exhibit decomposition at 360 N.

The sample of Ceftazidime Dihydrochloride (CLP) was observed to exhibit decomposition at 360 N (colour change to brown). The test result is therefore considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97).

Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
07 December 2017 to 08 December 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.14 (Explosive properties)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Source and lot/batch No.of test material: Sponsor and G316507
Key result
Parameter:
thermal sensitivity - Koenen test: diameter of the orifice plate
Remarks on result:
not thermal sensitive if heated under defined confinement

None of the tubes fragmented during testing.

During the first test run for the 2 mm orifice tests, the tube was observed to tilt after 122 seconds and an audible pop was heard. Two burners extinguished.

For the 2nd and 3rd test, a loud popping sound was heard and all four burners extinguished after 46 and 61 seconds respectively. The third tube also tilted during testing.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The sample did not exhibit an explosion during any of the tests. The test result is therefore considered Negative.
