Interpretation of results:
other: Exempt from classification as an explosive substance of UN Class 1
Conclusions:
The substance is exempted from classification as an explosive substance of UN Class 1.
Executive summary:

UN Gap test – UN Test 2 (a) (non-GLP test)         Negative

Koenen tube test – UN Test 2 (b)                           Negative

Time-pressure test – UN Test 2 (c)(i)                     Negative

All three tests gave negative results and the sample is therefore exempt from classification as an explosive substance of UN Class 1.

Description of key information

The substance is exempted from classification as an explosive substance of UN 1.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Explosive properties of DNAN were investigated (Chilworth Technology Ltd, GLP3016001299R1V1/2017, 2017). The test was conducted according to the method described in the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, Test 2 (b).

The sample has been shown to have a limiting diameter of 1 mm. The test result is therefore considered negative (-) (according to the UN Transport of Dangerous Goods Recommendations) and the substance is exempted from classification as an explosive substance of UN 1.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is exempted from classification as an explosive substance of UN 1 Class according to testing conducted according to UN test method 2(b).
