First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
General advice: First Aid responders should pay attention to self-protection. Consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

If inhaled: Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Keep the victim calm and in a semi-upright position. Consult a physician.

In case of skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a physician.

In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes and call a physician immediately.

If swallowed: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.Call a physician immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
Not avaliable

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
Treatment: Treat symptomatically. For specialist advice physicians should contact the Poisons Information Service.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, Foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Never use a discharging direct water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Thermal decomposition giving flammable and toxic products in case of fire: Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxides.

Precautions for fire-fighters:
Specific methods:
Fight fire from a distance (more than 15 m). Cool containers/tanks with water spray. In case of fire nearby, remove exposed containers. Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition. Do not smoke. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Special protective actions for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefightinh if necessary.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Stay in the windward. Immediately eliminate all sources of combustion such as flammable materials if it can be done without risk. - Do not smoke. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of dust. Use personal protective equipment. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. For personal protection see section 8.

Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Methods for Containment and Cleaning up:
For small spill: Collect the spill as much as possible and keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Absorbed by specific material which contain with absorbed (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, general purpose binder, sawdust). Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.
For large spill: Dike spillage. Pump off product. Closed drainage pipe. Cover with foam to suppress evaporation. Dispose of contaminated material as prescribed.

Disposal of packaging:
Do not release into the environment. Destroy packaging by incineration at an approved waste disposal site (in accordance with local and national regulations).

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Safe handling advice:
Strictly limit the quantities of product in the work area to those which are absolutely necessary for the work in hand. Great cleanliness in work areas is a necessary and important factor for safety. Handle and open container with care. Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. In case of dust formation, wear a dust mask. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Protect from contamination. Never return any product to the container from which it was originally removed (risk of decomposition). In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Hygiene measures:
Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapours. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in well insulated area (peroxide area) away from other substances. Storage buildings must be built and equipped so as not to exceed the maximum proscribed temperature limit. Use non-combustible construction materials. Keep tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Store in original container. Use only very clean containers and equipment free from traces of impurities. Never return unused material to storage receptacle. Do not reuse empty packaging to store other products. Provide earthing and safe electrical equipment. Provide impermeable floor. Store in accordance with the particular national regulations.
Storage temperature: < 37 °C (to maintain the technical properties of the product).

Exposure controls / personal protection

General protective measures: Provide extract ventilation to points where emissions occur. Ensure the ventilation system is regularly maintained and tested. Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust) ventilation to maintain exposure below level of overexposure (from known, suspected or apparent adverse effects). Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. In the case of hazardous fumes, wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Hand protection: Suitable chemical resistant safety gloves (EN 374) also with prolonged, direct contact
(Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN374): E.g. nitrile rubber (0.4 mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), butyl rubber (0.7 mm) and other.
Eye/face protection: Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).
Skin and body protection: Wear impervious clothing. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace. Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique(without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
Thermal hazard: Wear suitable protective clothing to prevent heat.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Stable under recommended handling and storage conditions.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended handling and storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to instructions.

Conditions to avoid: Temperatures above 37 °C (to maintain the technical properties of the product). Keep away from heat, sources of ignition (risk of exothermic decomposition) and incompatible materials.

Incompatible materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents, Reducing agents, Strong acids, strong bases.

Hazardous decomposition products: Thermal decomposition giving flammable and toxic products : Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods: The material can be disposed of by removal to a licensed chemical destruction plant or by controlled incineration with flue gas scrubbing. Do not contaminate water, foodstuffs, feed or seed by storage or disposal. Do not discharge to sewer systems (in accordance with local and national regulations).
.

Packaging disposal: Containers can be triply rinsed (or equivalent) and offered for recycling or reconditioning. Alternatively, the packaging can be punctured to make it unusable for other purposes and then be disposed of in a sanitary landfill. Controlled incineration with flue gas scrubbing is possible for combustible packaging materials (in accordance with local and national regulations).
