Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
The study was conducted with a test design similar to an internationally recognised method, but with deviations and non-GLP. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised. Therefore validation applies with restrictions.

Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
other: a localized combustion or glowing with practically no spreading was observed at room temperature

Any other information on results incl. tables

Based on observations, the substance is assigned to Burning class 3.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Remarks:
GHS and EU-CLP criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item is NOT classified as a flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.
Executive summary:

The Flammability of the test substance was tested similarly to UN N1 guideline, but with a shorter strip of substance.

Upon heating, the substance ignited, but no propagation of the combustion was obseved.

Therefore the test result is considered suitable for classification purpose.
