Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

SugaNate products are generally manufactured and marketed in aqueous solution. Removal of the water results in the production of a waxy solid, which is difficult to handle in traditional melting/boiling point test methods and attempts at DSC / TGA were not succesful and the melting point of the isolated materials have not been determinated accurately. The attempt to use DSC to measure the melting point of SugaNate 160NC resulted in a trace that did not show any indication of melting point during the test which scanned from 180 - 280 deg C. Further attempts are planned for thermal analysis.

The use of EPIsuite and the SMILES notation of these two products suggests that SugaNate 100NC will have a B.Pt of 616 deg C and SugaNate 160NC will have a B Pt of 662 deg C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling point of the substances as manufactured and marketed, which is a 40% aqueous solution will exhibit a boiling point of water at around 100 deg C.
