Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Data waiving:
study waived due to provisions of other regulation
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
06 Aug 2018 - 19 Oct 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.4 (Test method for self-heating substances)
Version / remarks:
Rev. 6 (2015)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Particle size distribution: D10 = 1.41 μm, D50 = 4.26 μm, D90 = 10.7 μm
Moisture content: 0.2%
Key result
Test procedure:
100 mm sample cube at 140°C
Result:
negative outcome (no effect observed)

No spontaneous ignition occurred and no exothermic effect of the test item was observed.  It demonstrated that the test item is “not a self-heating substance”. According to the UN guideline, no further testing is required.

After the experiment, the consistency of the sample was unchanged, i.e. no melting or reaction and/or decomposition of the test item was observed.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Remarks:
and not classified based on CLP criteria
Conclusions:
The substance is not self-heating.
