PBT assessment
Administrative data
PBT assessment: overall result
- Name:
- 8-[4-(4-Methylphenyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-yl]-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane
- Type of composition:
- boundary composition of the substance
- State / form:
- other: solid
- Reference substance:
- 8-[4-(4-Methylphenyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-yl]-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane
- Name:
- 8-[4-(4-Methylphenyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-yl]-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane
- Type of composition:
- legal entity composition of the substance
- State / form:
- other: solid
- Reference substance:
- 8-[4-(4-Methylphenyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-yl]-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane
- PBT status:
- the substance is PBT / vPvB
- Justification:
The test item is not readily biodegradable and thus considered to be potentially P (and vP). The substance has log Pow > 5.7, with a BCF of 2680 L/kg (EPI Suite v4.11) and thus considered to be potentially B. The test item is considered to be T although the test item is not classified for carcinogenic (cat 1A or 1B), germ cell mutagenic (cat 1A or 1B), or toxic for reproduction (cat 1A, 1B or 2) but the test item is classified for STOT RE (cat 1 or 2) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Furthermore, in all aquatic tests the test item showed no toxic effect on the tested species. The determined EC10 for green algae were > 100 mg/L.
Based on the data provided, it can be concluded that the test item is PBT.
