100g of Chamomile oil was slowly cooled in a 250 ml round bottomed flask using a cardice jacket in a vacuum flask within a fume cupboard. Cardice is solid Carbon dioxide at a temperature of minus 78 deg C. The liquid in the flask had a temperature probe capable of recording temperatures down to minus 40 deg C.
