Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The study was conducted according to EU method A.17 under GLP with no deviations and is hence considered sufficiently reliable to assess the oxidising properties of the test item. In all tests with the test item, no signs of oxidising properties were observed and no burning rate surpasses the burning rate of the reference item/cellulose mixtures. Therefore the test item is considered to have no oxidising properties.
No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
Executive summary:

The oxidising properties of Ammonium-3-nitrobenzoate were determined according to EU method A.17 under GLP.

In the pre-test, the mixture of cellulose and test item burned with orange, sooting flame. No sparks and no fizzles were observed.

The maximum burning rate of mixtures of a reference item (Ba(NO3)2) was determined. Likewise, the burning rates of mixtures of the test item with cellulose (in different proportions) were determined. The burning rates of the three mixtures with the highest burning rate were determined six times.

The average burning rate undercut the maximum burning rate of the mixture of reference item and cellulose.

Therefore the test item Ammonium-3-nitrobenzoate is considered to have “no oxidising” properties.
