Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
November 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Version / remarks:
Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, published in O.J. L 142, 2008
GLP compliance:
no
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
Temperatrue range tested: 25-400 ºC, beyond decomposition temperature (220 ºC)

Temperature of the test substance rose depnding on incrasing temperature of oven within the wole measurement. No sharp temperature rise (exothermic reaction) was observed within recording of the temprarature/time curve. The same result was obtained from trepeating measurement.

The temperature range tested is 25 -400 ºC, which includes melting of the substance ( 167 ºC) and decomposition of the substance (220 - 305 ºC).

Conclusions:
The substance does not self-ignite in the temperature range tested (25 - 400 ºC).

Description of key information

The substance does not self-ignite in the temperature range 25 to 400 ºC (melting temperature at 167 ºC and decomposition temperature at 220 - 305 ºC)

Key value for chemical safety assessment
