Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

One study (REACH&Colours, 2012) was performed on the similar substance 1 following OECD 301D for assessing ready biodegradability. The substance under test conditions after 28 days showed a degradation of 0.6%. One study (Clariant, 2007) was instead performed on the similar substance 2, following OECD 302B for assessing inherent biodegradability: the biodegradation of the tested item reached 13 % after 28 days of incubation.

Direct Black 80:1 can be considered not biodegradable for Read across with similar substance 1 and 2, and also according to the estimation by prediction tool.
