Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: After inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air. Consult a
physician if irritating symptoms develop and persist.
Emergency measure - Eyes: After contact with the eyes: immediately rinse eyes with
running water and seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with the skin: Rinse skin immediately with
water, soap and brush. Immediately remove contaminated
clothing. Consult a physician if any symptoms develop.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: After ingestion or accident: If swallowed, seek medical
advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: No restrictions for extinguinshing media to be used
e.g.Water, CO2 gas, foam etc.

Product arising from burning: carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn. Fight the fire from a safe distance
or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: After spillage, the substance must not be released into
sewers, drains or wells. It should be taken up by mechanical
means and disposed of. To clean the floor and all objects
contaminated by this material, use water and detergents.
When clearing up spilt material, avoid breathing dust and
skin contact. Before the clear up, dampen solid waste or
preferably use a permitted industrial vacuum cleaner. Label
waste containers adequately. During the clear up and
disposal, wear suitable overalls, rubber gloves and if the
need arises also effective respiratory protection.

Handling and storage

Handling: Open handling without suitable personal protective equipment
must be avoided. Provide exhaust ventilation system in case
of open handling.Personal protection for open handling:
Respiratory protection: Full face respirator or a positive-
pressure supplied-air respirator. Hand protection: neoprene
or nitrile gloves. Tyvek classic protective suit or a full
air-supplied suit. Boot covers.Eye protection.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from heat,
oxidising agents, strong alkaline and acid materials. Store
container in cool and dry place. Avoid formation of dust.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Carbamic acid will be supplied in 450 kg or 600 kg bags for
direct charging to the reactor.

Remarks:
Transport code: Not restricted
Transport: Considering the substance quality from all aspects, there is
no transport restriction required according to the
regulations i.e.RID/ADR, ICAO/IATA-DGR, GGVSee/IMDG-Code..

From the on site warehouse to the process area, the material
is transported within it's original packaging on curtain-
sided flat bed trailers. Loading and unloading of the
trailers is performed using fork lift trucks, operated by
trained personnel.

In the event of a spillage, observe the warning labels on
the containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from
spillage is not economically or technically feasible and
such waste material will be disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralize the
hazardous health and environmental properties. The dust
hazard will be controlled by the use of appropriate handling
and storage measures.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages will not be disposed of
by landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance will be disposed of by incineration which will
be burned under controlled conditions at licensed waste
treatment processor in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be discharged to the sewage system
or the aqueous environment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
