Additional information

The dermal irritancy of the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F is determined to be slightly to not irritating based on the six Klimisch 1 and 2 studies performed using OECD guidelines.

Under the experimental conditions employed only one product induced erythema and edema reactions above the threshold of significance (score 2 for erythema or edema) and classified as irritant according to the EEC directive No. 83/467/1983. The other studies indicated slight irritancy, but not enough to meet the threshold for classification.

Two cumulative repeat dose irritation studies were performed and under the experimental conditions employed test materials induced significant irritation after repeated application and there is a cumulative skin irritation potential in albino rabbits.

The eye irritancy of the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F is determined to be not irritating based on the four Klimisch 1 and 2 studies performed using OECD guidelines. In the rabbit eye irritancy tests, 0.1 mL of the test material caused no irritation and no initial pain response.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating
