First-aid measures

See first-aid measures in the Precautionary statements

Fire-fighting measures

As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irriitating and highly toxie gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Extinguishing Media: Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or chemical foam.

Accidental release measures

In case of accidental release, unnecessary personnel are evacuated and personnel wearing suitable protective equipment sweep or shovel up the spill in suitable containers minimizing dust generation. Containers are closed and labeled and then disposed through authorized companies.
Associated standard operational procedures:
• PNT-MA-02-000: Environmental Management System Manual
• PNT-MA-04-003: Chemical spills procedure

Handling and storage

Tecnical measures are:
1. Access to warehouse is restricted and only personnel with permission can access
2. Substance is stored in a specific area of the warehouse

Disposal considerations

Treatment of waste on site:
• Aqueous effluents from equipment cleaning are sent to a waste water treatment plant (WWTP).
• Distilled solvents generated during the manufacturing process are treated and recovered to recycle them in the same process.

Treatment of waste off site:
• Empty containers are disposed outside by an authorized company.
• Aqueous and solvents waste streams from scrubber, process or cleaning are sent to authorized managing companies for treatment and valorization
