Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

First aid procedures

- Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist.

- Skin: Wash off with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

- Eye: Rinse with water. Get medical attention if irritiation developes and persists.

- Ingestion: Rinse mouth. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell. If ingestion of a large amount does occur, call a poison control centre immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Not available.

Notes to physician: Keep victim warm. Symptoms may be delayed. Show safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. Keep victim under observation.

General advice: If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show label where possible). Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. Show safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water fog. Foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire.

Specific hazards arising from the chemical: Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.

Protective equipment and precautions for firefighters: Wear suitable protective equipment.

Special fire fighting procedures: Cool containers exposed to heat with water spray and remove container, if no risk is involved.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep people away from an upwind of spill/leak. Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Ensure adequate ventilation. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. For personal protection, see section on Exposure controls / personal protection.

Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Extinguish all flames in the vicinity. Should not be released into the environment.

- Large spills: Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product and place into a container for later disposal. Prevent entry into waterways, sewer, basements or confined areas.

- Small spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.

Never return spills to original containers for re-use.

Handling and storage

Handling: Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged exposure. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Handle and open container with care. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Mechanical ventilation or local exhaust ventilation is required.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed. Use care in handling/storage. Store away from incompatible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational exposure limits: No exposure limits noted for ingredient(s).

Engineering controls: Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation.

Personal protective equipment:

- Eye/face protection: Wear eye/face protection. Face shield is recommended. Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).

- Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

- Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Chemical respirator with organic vapour cartridge.

- Hand protection: Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: The product is stable and non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.

Chemical stability: Material is stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Hazardous polymerisation can occur with elevated temperatures.

Conditions to avoid: Heat, flames and sparks. Contact with incompatible materials. Avoid exposure to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

Incompatible materials: Acids. Bases, alkalies (organic). Amines. Oxidizing agents. Peroxides.

Hazardous decomposition products: If product is burned hazardous gases such as oxides of carbon and nitrogen and various hydrocarbons may be produced.

Disposal considerations

Disposal methods: Contract with a disposal operator licensed by the Law on Disposal and Cleaning. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. When your own wastewater treatment plant is not available, collect entire waste and then charge to a licensed industrial waste management professional with manifests for industrial waste.

Waste from residues/unused products: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner. Not applicable.

Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal. Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is emptied. Do not re-use empty containers.
