Description of key information

The 96 -hour LC50 based on nominal concentrations was 1.25 mg/L with a 95% fiducal interval of 1.18 to 1.34 mg/L. The test substance (based on nominal concentrations) was moderately toxic to fathead minnows, Pimephales promelas, in a 96 -hour static, anaerated test.

The rangefinding study was designed to provide an estimate of aquatic toxicity using fixed test concentrations and data measurements at predetermined intervals. Nominal concentrations tested: 0, 0.5, 1.0, 50, 500, 5000 mg/L. The pH and dissolved oxygen readings have been taken approximately 24 hours after exposure due to total mortality.

Results:

Based on visual observations, all solutions were clear at the test start, except for 50mg/L which was slightly cloudy, white in color. Immobilities were 0, 100, 100, 100, 100 and 100% respectively. The 48 -hour EC50, based on nominal concentrations and immobility, was less than 0.5 mg/L. All water quality parameters were within acceptable limits.

The test substance exhibited extreme toxicity in a 48 -hour, unaerated, static avute test using Ceriodaphnia dubia.
