Additional information

The substance is an organic compound and at 20 °C and 1013 hPa it is a yellow crystalline powder.

The evaluation of thermal properties was based on a DSC analysis: a melting point is detected at 183.74 °C. while the boiling point is not detected since the substance decomposes at 245.59 °C before boiling.

The relative density value found using the pour and tap method is 1.26 g/cm3 at 20 °C.

The substance is completely soluble in water and with a solubility of 1000 g/L.

The log Pow value is 2.42. These results were obtained at 25 °C and at pH 2.0.

No reactions with water or emission of flammable gases have ever been noted. Furthermore, for soluble substances a reaction with water is not a desirable property from the use point of view. Therefore, the substance is not expected to emit flammable gases in contact with water.

The substance is also an air-stable compound at room temperature over a prolonged period of time (days), without noticeable or undesirable reactions: a potential for spontaneous ignition is not expected. In addition, it is found to be non flammable during the reference test.

The substance does not contain chemical groups associated with explosive properties and is considered to be non explosive and incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, also on the basis of its thermal properties.
