Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Note for physician

Treat burns, after decontamination, as any thermal burn. No

specific antidote is available. Give supportive care, treat

symptomatically.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediate and continuous irrigation with flowing water for

at least 30 minutes is imperative. Prompt medical attention

is essential.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off with flowing water or use a shower.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing media are water fog, foam or dry

chemical.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides together with some hydrogen chloride gas.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should wear a full-face positive pressure

self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing. Contain spillage and cover with an

excess of absorbent. The resulting mixture should be

shovelled into drums for disposal by incineration. Prevent

the substance from entering sewers, ground or surface

waters.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use protective clothing impervious to the substance (eg

Butyl rubber or nitrile rubber (second choice) gloves,

boots, apron or full body suit). The choice of clothing will

depend on the operation to be performed. A safety shower

should be readily available.

Storage: Store in a suitable facility such that contamination of

water, food or animal feed is unlikely.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Not given, 6th amendment notification.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable. Treatment with base yields the free amine

which has similar hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance or formulations containing it should not be

discharged into the air, aqueous systems or the soil.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen

and sulphur oxides and hydrogen chloride gas should be used.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be allowed to enter public sewage

treatment systems due to its antimicrobial activity.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance and formulations containing it will not enter

the public domain. Should material be found, the local

emergency services should be informed, as should the

supplier.
