Description of key information

Remarkable physical-chemical properties of MPI-ACA:

- Molecular weight: 333.84.

- MPI-ACA is a solid.

- MPI-ACA decomposes starting at ca. 150 °C; the calculated melting temperature is 333 °C.

- The relative density is 1.61 at 20 °C.

- The mean particle size (by mass) is between 500µm and 1000 µm. No particles below 100 µm.

- The calculated vapour pressure is very low: 2.3*10-14 Pa at 25 °C.

- The log of the n-octanol/water partition coefficient is very low: <-3.3.

- The water solubility is high: 111 g/L at 20.0 °C.

- The test substance is the hydrochloride of a zwitterion and by this the test substance dissociates in water to chloride and the zwitterion. The dissociation constants of the zwitterion of the test substance are 0.8 (acidic), 6.9 and 8.6 (basic).

- MPI-ACA is not flammable, not explosive and has no oxidising properties.
