Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

EU Method C.7 (Degradation: Abiotic Degradation: Hydrolysis as a Function of pH) (in analogy to OECD testing method 111)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 min
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

pH 4.0 by 25 °C: Half-life < 1 min.

pH 7.0 by 25 °C: Half-life < 1 min.

pH 9.0 by 25 °C: Half-life < 1 min.

For technical reasons it was decided to conduct the hydrolysis tests at room temperature (25 °C). This has no adverse effect on the test results because of kinetic reasons at higher temperatures (e.g. at 50°C as originally demanded by the testing method) the half-life time for this hydrolysis reaction will also be in the range below 1 minute. Moreover, hydrolysis will even be faster at 50 °C than at 25°C but the exact difference can not be determined due to the time limitation of the analytical method.
