Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The three tests on the three trofic level for aquatic toxicity have been performed (Tediosi, 2013) on the similar substance Reaction mass of dipotassium phosphonate and Phosphonic acid, potassium salt (1:1) in water solution, monitoring the results and the active ingredient stability and concentration. No concern for aquatic acute toxicity is raised from the three acute tests. Tests results are applicable also to Diammonium Hydrogen phosphite, taking into account that the substance is completely dissociated in the water compartment, therefore the behaviour of the phosphite ion is the same, for ammonium and for potassium ion. No additional contribution to the toxicity towards aquatic organisms can be related to the amonium counterion, respect to the potassium ion, as it can be noticed compairing the two analogous salt couple: ammonium and potassium sulphated.

Long term tests have not been performed since no concern is raised from acute tests.

Based on physicochemical properties and use of the substance the exposure environmental compartment of concern is the soil, on which dedicated tests have been performed
