Description of key information

Non flammable. Test Running

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The test on the substance is running. A similar substance hass been taken as a reference for a draft result. The tested substance did not show flame propagation under the test conditions, therefore it resulted not flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance Diammonium Phosphonate is not classified as flammable because it doesn't meet the classification criteria of the CLP regulation n. 1272/2008: "Powdered, granular or pasty substances or mixtures (except powders of metals or metal alloys) shall be classified as readily combustible solids when the time of burning of one or more of the test runs, performed in accordance with the test method described in Part III, sub-section 33.2.1, of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, is less than 45 seconds or the rate of burning is more than 2,2 mm/s".

Since the test item did not propagate combustion, no further testing was required. From the obtained experimental data it can be concluded that the registering substance is a not highly flammable substance. After the observation of the sample in the two preliminary tests, no further testing was required.
