General advice
After inhalation: There are no known delayed effects. Consult a doctor for all exposures to exception of minor cases.
After skin contact: In case of contact with the skin, wash the contaminated area with plenty of water.
After eye contact: In case of contact with clean eyes with plenty of water and notify a doctor immediately.
After ingestion: Rinse the mouth with plenty of water and notify a doctor immediately.
Main symptoms and effects, acute and delayed
Chloramphenicol levo is very toxic through the skin. The substance is classified as causing of eye injuries. There is no concern of adverse systemic effects.

Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

These measures assume good cleaning and personal practices, not drinking, eating and smoking in the workplace. Shower and change clothes at the end of the workday. Do not wear contaminated clothing.

The substance must be stored in a dry environment. Keep out of the reach of children.
