Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on test conditions:
A jacketed beaker filled with DI water was heated and maintained at 37°C using an immersion heater and pump. The immersion heater was placed in a 3-gallon reservoir of water and controlled using the temperature control unit. The thermocouple was suspended in the jacketed beaker next to the sample being hydrolyzed, to ensure the temperature the sample was exposed. Samples were taken from the sample vial thru the septa using a clean and dried stainless-steel needle at desired time intervals and at time zero.

The sample aliquots removed (1mL) from the reaction mixture were analyzed using gas chromatography. An internal procedure was used to calibrate the GC to correlate the weight percent in each sample compared to peak area from the eluted peak in the chromatogram; the internal standard used was acetone. The analysis conducted targets the degradation of the 2-ethyl-oxazoline through a hydrolytic process at varying pH, and does not monitor the formation of the hydrolyzed products.
