Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

For the read across substance, dilithium sebacate, the 48-hour EC50 value for immobilisation of Daphnia was determined to be >100 mg/L. For fatty acids lanolin the 48-hour EL50 for Daphnia magna was > 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

The studies were conducted according to OECD guideline 202 and EU C.2 method and were GLP-compliant.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

For dilithium sebacate, the 72 hr EC50 for growth inhibition was > 100 mg/L and for yield inhibition was 22 mg/L. The 72h NOEC for growth rate inhibition was 10 mg/L and for yield inhibition was 1.0 mg/L. For fatty acids lanolin, the 72 h EL50 values for growth rate and yield were > 100 mg/L loading rate WAF and correspondingly the NOELR was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

This studies were conducted according to OECD guideline 201 and EU C.3 method and are GLP-compliant.

Additional information

Ecotoxicological endpoints are completed for the test item based on test data following standard guidelines. No data are available for the short term toxicity to invertebrates and toxicity to aquatic algae with the substance fatty acids, lanolin, lithium salts. Read across from dilithium sebacate and fatty acids, lanolin is used to complete these endpoints.

All data are considered to be reliable and relevant for the endpoint concerned.
