Description of key information

The substance is not to be regarded as self-heating substance based on the results of UN Test N.4, as recommended for solids in chapter R.7.1.1.1 of ECHA guidance chap. R.7a.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test was performed even though the melting point of the product is below 160°C and therefore the study in principle would not need to be conducted. However, since the melting range was close to these 160°C and since decomposition (gas formation) was observed above the melting point, the test should rule out any critical self-heating.

The sample did not undergo dangerous self-heating when tested in a 100 mm sample cube at 140°C (refer to figure 3). Therefore, the sample is not to be regarded as self-heating substance.
