toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
Justification for type of information:
A QSAR evaluation was carried out for the substance, to assess its potential for toxicity to fish. The logKow value of 6.13, which is itself a QSAR result, was used as input. The value for water solubility used in the assessment was 0.3 mg/l. The calculated 96h EC50 for green algae is above the aquatic solubility limit of the substance. The limit of water solubility (0.3 mg/L) is taken as the EC50 for PNEC derivation.
Reason / purpose:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water.

The limit of solubility of the substance in water is listed below.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.3 mg/L
EC50 for marine water algae:
0.3 mg/L
