Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of information:
other: Data waiving
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
29.5.2018
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Justification for type of information:
See full report.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:

Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Date waiving.
GLP compliance:
no
Key result
Remarks on result:
not measured/tested
Conclusions:
The self-ignition temperature needs not to be measured.
Executive summary:

The self-ignition temperature needs not to be measured.

Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
15.1-2018-3.6.2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases))
Version / remarks:
Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.15. Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases).
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
ca. 435 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Conclusions:
The test item Fain has an auto-ignition temperature of 435 °C according to the Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.15. Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases) and DIN 51794 (2003): Determination of Ignition Temperature.
It is noted here that according to ECHA guidance – Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment; chapter R.7A: Endpoint specific guidance, October 2015 – the auto-ignition temperature for liquids is not used directly for classification and labeling according to regulation (EC) 1272/2008. However, it can be used in the chemical safety assessment in considering risks associated with processing the substance.
According to DIN EN 13463-1 the test item has to be assigned to temperature class T2
Executive summary:

Autoignition temperature 435 C

Description of key information

The self-ignition temperature needs not to be measured. However, the measured autoignituon temperature is 435 C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
435 °C
