Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water mist, dry extinguishing media, foam, carbon dioxide (CO2)
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
For safety reasons do not use full water jet.
Specific Hazards:
Formation of harmful fumes. Hazardous combustion products: (CO, CO2).
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Fire fighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus to prevent contact with
reaction products.
Special protective equipment:
Do not stay in dangerous zone without self-contained breathing apparatus. In order to avoid contact
With skin, keep a safety distance and wear suitable protective clothing.
Further information:
Contaminated extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
Remove all sources of ignition. Use personnel protective clothing. Avoid substance contact. Avoid
inhalation of fumes and aerosols. Ensure supply of fresh air in enclosed rooms. Ensure adequate
ventilation.
Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter drains, sewerage system. Cover drains. Collect, bind and pump of spills.
Methods for cleaning up:
Contain with adsorbent material and dispose. Avoid generation of fumes, aerosols and dust.
Other information:
Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along the floor.

Handling and storage

Handling:
Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. If handling large quantities without ventilation
use respiratory protection.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Take precautionary measures against static discharge.
