Description of key information

Fish, OECD guideline 203, Oncorhynchus mykiss, 96 h:

96 -h LL50 = 4.4 mg/L nominal loading rate. The No Observed Loading Level was 3.2 mg/L.

Aquatic invertebrates - short term, OECD Guideline 202, Daphnia magna, 48 h:

48-h EL50 = 23 mg/L nominal loading rate with 95 % confidence limits of 20 to 25 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 10 mg/l nominal loading rate.

Aquatic invertebrates - long term, OECD Guideline 211, Daphnia magna, 21 d:

21-d IC50 > 0.8 mg/L nominal loading rate WAF (> 0.53 mg/L measured) for neonate production, adult daphnid length and adult daphnid weight. The lowest NOEC was 0.4 mg/L nominal (0.26 mg/L measured) for reproduction.

Aquatic algae , OECD 201, Scenedesmus subspicatus, 72 h:

EbL50 (72h) = 21 mg/L loading rate WAF; ErL50 (0-72 hr) = 24 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 10 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Microorganisms, DIN EN ISO 10712, Pseudomonas Putida:

EC0 (growth inhibition) = 200 mg/L nominal loading rate. The determined EC50 (growth inhibition) is 380 mg/L.

Justification for classification:

Based on the results obtained from the acute aquatic tests on fish, daphnids, algae and microorganisms and based on the fact that the substance is expected to be not readily biodegradable, has a log Pow of 1.31, and taken into account the ecotoxicological data and classification of read-across substances (category approach) a classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as Aquatic Chronic 2 (H411) is warranted.
