Description of key information

Determination of density of the test sample was done according to ASTM D7042, "Standard Test Method for Dynamic Viscosity and Density of Liquids by Stabinger Viscometer (and the Calculation of Kinematic Viscosity)".

The test sample is introduced into the measuring cells, which are at a closely controlled and known temperature. The measuring cells consist of a pair of rotating concentric cylinders and an oscillating U-tube. The density is determined by the oscillation frequency of the U-tube in conjunction with adjustment data. Density (p) is the mass per unit volume. Relative density (also known as specific gravity (SG)) is the ratio of the density of a material at a stated temperature to the density of a reference material (usually water) at a stated temperature.

Relative density of the test sample is 1.255 (15.6 °C sample temperature to water at 4 °C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.255

Additional information

Relative density was determined at 15.6°, not 20 °C.
