- Details on results (HPLC method):
- Injections of a matrix blank sample (55% MeOH: 55% reagent water (v/v)) showed that the reagents used for preparation of the reference standard solutions and test item solutions were free of any potentially interfering contaminants.
The mean retention time of the duplicate urea standard injections was 1.014 minutes. Five reference standard solutions were analyzed after each urea injection and used to establish a calibration curve.
The three 1.00 mg/L test item solutions were sequentially injected. The test item eluted as one distinct peak. A fourth test substance solution at 10.0 mg/L was subsequently injected to verify that the peak was correctly attributed to the test substance. The mean retention times of the peak was 1.131 minutes. The corresponding Log KOC values for the test substance peak was 0.333. - Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Under the chromatographic conditions specified, the test item eluted as one discrete peak. The mean retention times of the test substance peak was 1.131 minutes. The corresponding mean Adsorption coefficient (Log Koc) for test item was 0.333.
- Executive summary:
The test was performed based on procedures in the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, 121, Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Official Journal of the European Communities No. L225. Method C.19: Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) .
Under the chromatographic conditions specified, the test item eluted as one discrete peak. The mean retention times of the test substance peak was 1.131 minutes. The corresponding mean Adsorption coefficient (Log Koc) for test item was 0.333.

Description of key information
The test was performed based on procedures in the OECD Guideline 121 using HPLC method.
Under the chromatographic conditions specified, the test item eluted as one discrete peak. The Adsorption coefficient (Log Koc) for test item was 0.333.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Koc at 20 °C:
- 2.15
Additional information
Log Koc is 0.333, then Koc is calculated as 2.15.
