- Taking into account the large mammalian available dataset, tartaric acid and its salts have been assessed as (i) non-acutely toxic, (ii) non-chronically toxic and (iii) non-bioaccumulable. All substances of the Category are biodegradable. Because of that, long-term or reproductive toxicity tests to birds shall not be proposed by the registrant in order to investigate further effects of the Category.
