Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

A total of three LLNA studies has been performed with TS-ED 532, two of which has been disregarded due to technical aspects of the study not fulfilling the requirements of the OECD test guideline. The conclusion from the third, valid study is that TS-ED 532 is not a skin sensitiser in the LLNA study using concentrations of 10, 25 and 50% solutions of TS-ED 532 in a 4:1 mixture of acetone to olive oil.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
TS-ED 532 was not a skin sensitiser in the LLNA study using concentrations of 10, 25 and 50%.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

TS-ED 532 is a transparent liquid with very low vapour pressure (1.1x10-7 Pa at 25 °C and 4.8x10-8 Pa at 20 °C). Exposure of the respiratory tract to vapours of TS-ED 432 is considered very unlikely. It is assessed that the risk of possible respiratory sensitisation is negligible. Based on this it is concluded that TS-ED 432 is not sensitising.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
TS-ED 532 has very low vapour pressure and exposure of the respiratory tract to vapours is considered very unlikely. The risk of possible respiratory sensitisation is negligible.

Justification for classification or non-classification

TS-ED 532 was not a skin sensitiser in the LLNA study using concentrations of 10, 25 and 50%. The stimulation index was <3 and no dose-relationship was established which indicate that TS-ED 532 does not have the potential to cause skin sensitization. TS-ED 532 is a transparent liquid with very low vapour pressure. Exposure of the respiratory tract to vapours of TS-ED 432 is considered very unlikely and the risk of possible respiratory sensitisation is negligible.

Based on these results, TS-ED 532 shall not be classified according GHS and DSD-DPD.
