Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
activated sludge respiration inhibition testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is found to be readily biodegradable and the applied test concentrations are in the range of concentrations that can be expected in the influent of a sewage treatment plant
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
The test substance is established as readily biodegradable. An OECD 301B test was performed, which resulted in 90.7% degradation in 28 days, and the 10-day biodegradation window was met (>60% biodegradation within 10 days). In accordance with Annex VIII Section 9.1.4., Column 2, of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, the study does not need to be conducted if:
— the substance is found to be readily biodegradable and the applied test concentrations are in the range of concentrations that can be expected in the influent of a sewage treatment plant.

Description of key information

Toxicity to microorganisms: The study does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable; Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex VIII, Part 9.1.4., Column 2.
