Description of key information

Jessemal is not considered genotoxic based on information derived from Jasmal, which was tested in vitro in an Ames test (OECD TG 471), a chromosomal aberration test (OECD TG 473) and in a mouse lymphoma assay (OECD TG 487).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Jessemal does not need to be classified for carcinogenicity based on read across from Jasmal. This is based on absence of genotoxicity of Jasmal in three in vitro test systems: Ames, chromosomal aberrations and MLA test. Therefore no genotoxicity is indicated and no genotoxic carcinogenicity according to EU CLP (EC No. 1272/2008 and its amendments).
